The Various Climactic Zones in Tenerife
One of the biggest reasons why Tenerife is such a favorite destination spot is because of the all-year round sunny weather in Tenerife and lovely warm climate. However, most people do not realize that certain areas can get pretty cold at night. Here is something that you need to know about the climate when you plan your holidays to Tenerife.
The locals have divided the different areas in their island into three. The first one is called ‘the land below the clouds’ where it is very warm. When you are in this area, you may need to change your clothes twice a day because it can get very warm. The second is known as ‘the land in the clouds’. Humidity and the rate of precipitation are slightly higher here so you should expect rains now and then. When you are doing nature walks in some of the forests here, it is important to wear windbreakers. Finally, there is ‘the land over the clouds’. Although the temperatures in the morning can be high, it can get cooler in the evenings. You should then include small and thin jackets to keep you warm.
Although the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, are located very close to the African continent, the winds coming from the north are pretty cool. This may not be a huge factor when choosing to have your holidays to Tenerife but it can definitely help you.
